GM to Sell Stake in Suzuki for $230 Million

In an effort to stay afloat while congress decides on a bailout plan for The Big 3, GM has decided to sell its entire stake in Suzuki Motor Corp. for 22.37 billion yen ($230 million).

Suzuki is going to buy back the 3.02 percent stake from GM. Suzuki stated that it is necessary for the automaker to buy back the stake from GM to help the ailing automaker. Although Suzuki is buying the 3.02 percent stake, the two automakers will continue to have a partnership in the future, which includes the development of hybrid vehicles and SUVs in Canada.

Honda Releases More Details About the New Insight Hybrid

Honda has officially unveiled the Honda Insight Concept at the Paris Motor Show. The concept is supposed to give a strong indication of what the production version will look like when it hits showrooms next spring.

Honda has announced that the new hybrid will be powered by a 1.3L engine that will be mated to an electric motor. It's not known how good the gas mileage will be although it is rumored that it will get close to 60 mpg.

The Insight will also feature ultra-light aluminum 18" wheels.

Honda unveiled the refreshed 2009 Honda Civic a few days ago and now AutoExpress claims that they have the first exclusive shots of the all-new 2011 Civic.

Toyota Kills Plans for New Supra and Next-Gen FJ Cruiser

According to the Automotive News Toyota has dropped the successor to the Supra from its product plans due to the high mpg requirements in the US.

Honda is Considering Bringing More JDM Models to the US

Ford has been making headlines lately due to its plans to bring several of its popular European models to the US in the near future. Now it looks like Honda is reportedly also looking at a similar plan that could bring some of its models in Japan to the US as well.

All-New 2009 Acura TL May Get All-Wheel-Drive and 300 Horsepower

Acura has already unveiled the new 2009 RL and TSX sedans, but probably the most anticipated model is the all-new 2009 TL that is also expected to be released by the end of the year.

Honda Accord Tourer Concept Hints at the Design of the Next Acura TSX

Next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Honda is going to unveil the Accord Tourer Concept that hints at the replacement for the UK Honda Accord (pictured above). The UK Honda Accord is essentially the same sedan that we have in the US, which is rebadged as the Acura TSX (the US-spec Accord is not the same).
