Here's an idea: prepay $10,000 for a plug-in hybrid. When would you get it? By 2012, at the latest, and in the process you'd be saving Detroit. That's the idea from CalCars anyway. Other news from the Electric Drive Transportation Association expo includes a proposal from the Medium Speed Vehicle Coalition and the EcoCar Saturn Vue.
