honda_insight_concept_fr2.jpg
Honda has officially unveiled the Honda Insight Concept at the Paris Motor Show. The concept is supposed to give a strong indication of what the production version will look like when it hits showrooms next spring.

Honda has announced that the new hybrid will be powered by a 1.3L engine that will be mated to an electric motor. It's not known how good the gas mileage will be although it is rumored that it will get close to 60 mpg.

The Insight will also feature ultra-light aluminum 18" wheels.

Naked Blonde + Alcohol = Not As Hot As It Sounds

In Jacksonville, Florida [State Motto: Most Of Our Elected Officials Have Been Indicted For Drug Trafficking], a woman in a white Honda CR-V went, to be colloquial, bat shit crazy.

According to police reports and witnesses at the scene, the absurdity began when the woman, identified as Holly Highfield [real name, not her stripper name], intentionally struck a bicyclist traveling on the side of the road. Next, Highfield abandoned her Honda on the side of the road [and the four children inside it] and attempted to hijack the vehicle of a motorist who had stopped to aid the injured bicyclist.

The motorist managed to prevent Highfield from absconding with his vehicle but Highfield was not to be deterred. After successfully commandeering another passersby unattended vehicle, Highfield proceeded to intentionally collide with her own Honda, but not before the eldest of Highfield’s four passengers had helped remove the children from the vehicle. Colliding with a fence before eventually coming to a stop and exiting the vehicle, Highfield then removed her clothes, and began running around in circles. Authorities who responded to the scene arrested Highfield for suspicion of DUI [suspicion? ] and transported her to Shands Jacksonville for evaluation [presumably of the psychiatric nature].

Honda to Extend Warranties on 6 Million Cars

03hondamileage

A class-action lawsuit has forced Honda to extend warranties and pay off lease fees due to faulty odometers for 6 million Hondas and Acuras. The voluntary industry standard is 4% accuracy for accumulated mileage. The government does not regulate odometers.

Honda says its odometers were within 3.75% accuracy but the company decided to settle the lawsuit because “the customer expectation is that it would be based on zero. We weren't. So we decided to settle the suit," according to Honda spokesman Chris Martin.

Vehicles affected were bought from April 13, 2002 to November 7, 2006. Purchased cars will get extended warranties while leased vehicles will receive added mileage to the terms of the lease, or those charged for overages on past lease deals will be reimbursed.

Honda says all 2007 models — excluding the Honda Fit — have received adjusted odometers with almost no variation in mileage.

We don't know what the next Acura (Honda) NSX will ultimately look like, but we do know that it will have a 5.5-liter V10 throwing down 560 hp through a torque-vectoring SW-AWD setup. The folks over at Auto Express have a cutaway view of the NSX's gizzards, and what lurks beneath the creased and chevroned skin of the next do-it-all-faster supercar could be good for a few extra heartbeats. We do hope, however, that these exterior renderings are quite a ways off. Otherwise, it might not be so bad if Acura offers a cutaway version of the actual car so that you don't have to see its body, because even under the camo, the new NSX is shaping up to be um, homely.
